The Trust in Unity Foundation is raised in January 2008 and is a corporation between Ghana and the Netherlands. The foundation’s goal is to support the excellence of a child. Trust in Unity supports children in the age of 6 to approximately 25 years old, from primary school to university.
The mission of Trust in Unity.
We want to contribute to the social and economical development of Ghana by giving Ghanaian children and adolescents a good education.
The vision of Trust in Unity.
Trust in Unity believes that education is the key contribution in developing qualities and talents of children. With help of a good education children will learn to recognize, develop and use their qualities and talents. This acquired knowledge will be something they can communicate to their own children in the future. This way educating one individual contributes to the development of a country as a whole.
The goal of Trust in Unity.
The goal Trust in Unity wants to give young Ghanaian people the opportunity to build a steady future for themselves. To reach this goal, Trust in Unity offers financial and personal support. The foundation cooperates with a Ghanaian team of guardians in order to guarantee this personal support. To make sure the level of support remains high and constant, every guardian has only a few students to support.
The millennium-goal and Trust in Unity.
In the year 2000 the governments of 189 different countries made an international agreement: before the year 2015, poverty, sickness and hunger must be forced back drastically. This is agreement is translated into 8 specific goals: the Millennium Development Goals (MDG). Trust in Unity mainly supports the second MDG which states that in the year 2015 all boys and girls in the world will have received and finished primary school.
