“A Cedi for a Scholar”
Dear reader,
This September all will be about “A Cedi for a Scholar”. In this light, we want to pay extra attention to our Ghanaian students, for whom we hope to collect the minimum amount of €3000,00 (GHC 6510,00 when converted) for the new school year. Are you willing to contribute?
Education for a better future
The foundation of Trust in Unity supports the qualities and talents of children in Ghana. The foundation does this by giving these children the opportunity to go to school. Getting a proper education not only supports the development of the child; Ghana itself also benefits from young, well-educated people who can contribute to the building of such a beautiful country.
What can you do for our students?
You can help our students by donating money on our bank account or by using the Online Donation module on our website. It is also possible to think of a entertaining campaign. If you need help in doing this, do not hesitate to contact our team!
Your contribution makes a difference
We hope that we can count on your support in making it possible for our students to finish this school year. Any contribution, whether the donation will be big or small, is greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much for your support!
Best regards,
Femke Joy Saffrie
On behalf of the Dutch and Ghanaian Board of Trust in Unity.

THE ACTIVITIES I PERFORM DURING THE WEEKENDS.
I know you agree witness with me that Saturday is a holiday for students.
On Saturdays, i wake up from bed at 10:00 a.m. I sweep my house, wash cooking utensils, wash my cloth and take my bath. After that I find something to eat. I use a little bit of my time to visit the cafe to have fun with my friends on the internet than i come home to cook supper. After I have finished my cooking around 5:00 p.m. I take my soccer bag which contains; boots and pants for football and walk to the field to play soccer with my team-mates. I am a footballer but I don’t usually go to play because of school. I come home around 7:00 p.m. to have my bath and start learning. I learn from 7:30 to 10:00 p.m. and go to bed.
That is all what I do on Saturday.

THE ACTIVITIES I PERFORM DURING THE WEEKENDS.
Many activities take place during weekends which are as follows. On Saturday morning, when I wake up from bed, I first pray and then take my bath and brush my teeth. When I finish brushing my teeth, I dress up for classes, when I come from classes, I wash my dirty cloths and shoes.
after washing my cloths, I go to play. I will then come home to revise what I learnt from class. After that I eat my food and then watch some interesting programmes and after that I pray and go to bed.
When I wake up the next morning, I pray, bath, brush my teeth and take my breakfast and then dress up and go to church service. From church, I go home to help my mother to cook and after helping her , I go to play and after playing , I go home and learn and eat. When I finish eating , I watch the news and then pray and go to sleep.

Our wonderful people, we had a very great opening day here in the Netherlands during my visit that I would like to tell you about. There is a great school here, KBS de Westhoek in Oosterhout, who has adopted some children from our great foundation. They are working hand in hand with us to foster the growth of Trust in Unity.
The school organised a very lucrative opening day where children performed dance from different countries. I took some few time to teach a class a song in our local dialect which is Twi. They did well in the performance at the stage. During one of their class session ,the kids asked me some very profound questions about Ghana, about the food we eat, the warmth and the hospitality of the people of Ghana. There was this question from a child: “Why is it that people of Ghana have a very nice brown eyes and why are they black in complexion?â€. It was great to hear a child posing such a question.
The parents who came to embrace the event donated to support the foundation.
We, the founders, would like to thank the executives of the school, the teachers, the children and all those who took part in this great day for making some ones life worth living.
The following story is from Lisann van den Berg from Oosterhout, the Netherlands. Placed on the Blog from Trust in Unity Hyves.

Hey sweet everybody!
I think the new name: Trust in Unity, is also very beautiful. I am going to tell about the musical again. (See last blog below.)
The theme of the musical is dance. I love dancing myself, I am also on street-dance. Together with Soet Dujardin we decided that it would go about a between hip-hop dancing and classic dancing. The name of the musical is: The Battle: Classic Ballet vs. Hip-hop.
The musical is about 2 different groups. They don’t accept each other and each others style. There are two sisters, they are dancing in different groups. You have to come and look of course. It costs 5 euros. And it goes to Trust in Unity. A beautiful foundation. The place where we are going to perform can have a 100 people. It is in Oosterhout, Netherlands in the Kluiz a small part of the Bussel. We will perform 2 times. The first rehearsal is tomorrow.
We are looking very much forward!!
Kisses, Lisann van den Berg.

Hello sweet everybody!
As everybody who is a member of this hyves knows and many others too, I think Trust in Unity is a wonderful foundation!
I am attending a children choir in Oosterhout called: “De Flierefluitersâ€. Last year I wrote a musical: the secret of Saint Anna-village. It was a fairy-tail about a treasure to be found. We played this musical two times. One time in “Villa Pardoes†(a house for children who are life threatening sick and are there to stay for a week) and one time for our parents. We raised 225,- euros and gave that to the “Villa Pardoesâ€. It was very nice to perform, organise and raise money for a good cause. That is why me and my friend Soet decided to write another musical. But this time of course for another good cause. And that is, you may already guess right…Trust in Unity! We will perform the musical this time in: “De Kluizâ€. A small podium in the “Busselâ€. We will keep you informed about the performing. Then you can come and look! We will ask 5 euro entree and that will go to Trust in Unity. So you will hear from us.
Love and Greetings from Lisann van den Berg.

Trust is a big company here in the Netherlands. They are specialised in all kinds of computer things. A friend of ours is working at Trust. Last year I went to Ghana to work on the Rockpress school in Kumasi. Trust gave me a laptop for the project!!! That was great of course!!
Now I raised the Trust in Unity foundation together with Bernard en Kwarteng. At my home in the Netherlands I could do a lot of work for the foundation because I have a computer, but in Ghana that was not that easy. Immediately I thought about the laptop. A friend of mine was visiting Ghana and she took the laptop to Cape Coast, Bernard went to get it there. Since then our Ghanian part is also working on the laptop for Trust in Unity. With our name, Trust in Unity, we also remember this great gift of Trust. As we trust in Trust and they can trust in us, in our Unity!!
So we want to thank Trust once again very very much for the laptop!! We keep on doing good work with it!! Tanks to Trust. www.trust.nl.

This first story is from the Netherlands, written by Femke Joy. And the first story is also a great one already!! Today we had our first official money-raising event!! Only a few days ago we went to the notary to register the foundation and already now we had this great afternoon in Cafe Picasso in Geleen!! Where a great musician, Netto and his band gave a great concert! This gifted man played for about 3 hours the most groovy and amazing songs. In between the songs Netto talked about our Trust in Unity, mentioned him being a part of our brainstorm-tank and mentioning that a part of the c.d. merchandise will go to our Trust in Unity!!! Of course we thank Netto very very much for his presence in the brainstorm-tank and his great music!!
We also thank Mrs. Kim Vaasen-Opstal for the great pictures she made during the concert of Netto!! For more information about Netto, his concerts and c.d.’s please visit: www.nettovibes.com .
